This is a plan to keep important parts of Kusama running smoothly for six more months.
It pays for computers called "collators" that help run five key networks: AssetHub, BridgeHub, CoreTime, People, and Encointer.
The collators get paid based on how much work they do, like how many blocks they create.
The plan also pays for a little bit of staking rewards and the costs to run the computers.
A new tool is being built to make checking the work easier and more reliable.
The total cost for six months is about 17,456 KSM.
That is equal to about $129,152 USD.

The "Infrastructure VM" service can be (and probably should be) provided by IBP, but it's only ~2% of the cost on Kusama and less on Polkadot, so it can be considered negligible. This is an important part of the system parachain infrastructure. I would still favor a more open structure for collators, possibly with staking or some other mechanism, just as we have on the relay chains, so that there's competition. But, aye, until we have that structure.

As system chain collators, we will abstain from voting on this referendum to avoid any COI. However, we generally align with the continuation of this bounty, as it remains the most practical and effective structure to sustain system parachain collator operations at this stage.
