They were not very diligent with their treasury management. They profited over $400,000 from the DOT price volatility.

The DOT outflow from the decentered account to Kraken between the 25th of March 2024 and the 29th of January 2025 sum up to $1,634,158. The original request of ~$1.2M, which already included $100K contingency, should have been covered by these DOT sales. To me this sounds like a mismanagement of funds. All aside, DOT should have been converted to stable coins immediately after the proposal was awarded. Treasury shouldn't pay for this. Nay.

If they had sold at any time between March 6th (payment execution) and June 6th, so basically a 3 month period where ATH was 10.63€ and ATL was 5.13€, so they’ve managed to sell pretty low based on their balance sheet. Now, they’re using the 2nd tranche to recoup their losses/missed payments (which to be fair was mentioned in the original proposal) but they’re asking for more than double of their original 90%-10% split, following their original proposal they should ask for around 100-120k€ max, they're asking for 21.4% more to be precise. This screams mismanagement to me, treasury shouldn't have to bear the burden of well-funded projects being mismanaged.

I think concerns about the fund mismanagement are valid. I hope the related teams can improve the ROI and remove unnecessary spendings. We spent millions on events with not good attendance.

I think it's ok to ask for some money given the first tranche was 90%, however the amount asked seems too high. The extra events should be funded from the profit when the value went up (e.g. the team should have sold extra DOT when it took on that liability).

I truly believe that the team behind Decoded has failed in their display of transparency towards the community. In addition, it shows that there was poor management of the funds with regard to volatility.
