[MS] DOT #1485 - Funding for Public RPC Providers via Bounty 31
Terminated 13d 15hrs ago
terminated
Description

https://polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1485

  • The proposal is about continuing to fund RPC Providers for six months plus one extra month.
  • The total funding needed is $171,951.34, which is about $22,142 each month.
  • Bounty 31 is a project that helps pay vendors for specific services on Polkadot.
  • Service providers will bid for this funding based on the needs set by curators.
  • The best providers that meet quality standards will be given the funding.
  • This plan helps reduce the need for more proposals and keeps costs fair.
  • If providers don't meet the quality, they might lose their funding.

Seems like a good model (public tender) for service providers

So this is a good proposal that should be funded but again we have the problem of asking for DOT instead of stables. This has caused problems time and time again and with the highly fluctuating price of DOT it's even more important in my opinion to ask for stables for projects with clear cut costs in real fiat. I will abstain for now until the need for DOT is clarified further as I have no objections to the proposal itself.

There was a recent change of curators iirc. I support the top-up, the bid model sets a good example.

A good proposal, for a needed public service within Polkadot. The request in DOT is not a big deal to me.
