  • A new plan is replacing an old one to help manage money better for Polkadot.
  • The Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA) trains people to work on Polkadot projects.
  • Around 750 learners have finished PBA courses and are making important contributions.
  • The academy needs more funding for nine months to grow its programs and reach more people.
  • PBA has a good track record in producing skilled developers for the Polkadot community.
  • They plan to expand their in-person programs, create new courses, and work with universities.
  • This funding will help ensure there are enough skilled builders for Polkadot's future.

It's critical to bring new developers into the ecosystem who truly understand the differentiating aspects of Polkadot. While a big spend, it's difficult to accomplish this without the "heavy lift" of a selective in-person program.

Same with my last vote. I'm not sure the big spend on accommodation, flights, etc are good investment. Can this program be totally online?

As mentioned in my previous vote, I think PBA is a prestige program for Polkadot and should have the funding it requires. It's the singular point of entry for many developers into the ecosystem and although some of the spending seems luxurious it's important to keep up appearances with prestige programs in my opinion.

I stand by my position with the previous proposal, I believe that PBA is a necessary program within the ecosystem, to bring new users and to expand the Polkadot ecosystem. I keep believing in the program.

PBA has been a solid program that has contributed to attracting, educating, and retaining engineers within the Polkadot ecosystem. While it’s hard to quantify the full impact, it’s reasonable to say Polkadot would likely be weaker without it. The requested funding is significant, and while not without concerns, this can be viewed as a strategic investment in an organization with a relatively strong track record. I support this proposal, but with the hope that they continue to demonstrate clear outcomes and cost awareness.

This is a valuable onramp into the core of polkadot. The more people the better the platform is.

We support this revised proposal, because PBA aims to bring more people / devs into the Polkadot ecosystem, which is a positive thing.

I see the value in the program, yet abstain, echoing Ipchess's comments under the proposal, I couldn't have put it better: "At this rate the whole Polkadot DAO will go bankrupt and all these people you train will be trained in vain. Please lower your ambitions in the size of the events. The gain is not proportional to the investment."

We work closely with the PBA, therefore we abstain.
