Ink Taps into Polka VM and assethub making the chain programmable, I do think that the way the quoted price has been lowered does not instill trust into how this teams developing from a long time into polkadot see the treasure as their main source of funding for their products, I will abstain for now on this proposal and if approved, I would like to see alternate financing for this initiative, I would also like to see some kind of awareness campaign indicating to developers their easy access to the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems for development with rust..

As discussed in our call with the team, approximately $800K has already been spent on ink! after Parity dropped the project. I believe that at this point, given the conditions of the treasury, and the general ambivalence towards ink!, the ecosystem should only provide a 'keep-alive' budget for it, and observe its performance after the full release of the Hub on Polkadot. I would support a budget below $199K, but the current ask of $362K, although justified in the budget breakdown, unfortunately feels oversized for the effort at this moment.

I believe Ink! is a project that helps Polkadot within the ecosystem by allowing Rust to be used more efficiently for development within the network. However, I also share the same concerns that many have expressed about the maintenance costs that are being raised. I believe that a fairly high budget has been spent that is not justified by the current market reality.

Despite the benefits of having Ink! contracts on AH, the overall budget is quite high. We need to consider the treasury's limited resources. Therefore, although we support PolkaVM smart contracts on AH, we are abstaining from this vote as we are not certain that the benefits outweigh the costs.
