PolkaTalent is a new project by Kunveno and Virto, creators of Kreivo. It is part of the work3spaces vision, a decentralized marketplace to connect freelancers with companies. The project aims to help freelance professionals in Web3. They are recruiting Web3 freelance developers for early user journey interviews to design intuitive UX flows. Interviews will be from April 7 to April 11, and participants will be compensated with 4 KSM for a 45-60 minute call. Apply before April 7 to join and help shape the future of decentralized work.

Not sure if this is needed in the ecosystem.

I agree with what the PolkaBiz team mentions: I'm not so sure it's needed in the ecosystem. I feel like every year we've been training a ton of talent in the PBA, so I don't know if more external “talent” is needed.

Worth the exploration, hopes this brings web2 developers to train as Web3 developers once the marketplace is in place.

From what I understand, the team is planning to give away 4 KSM to the freelance developers they're going to be interviewing, and it's to gather ideas for the marketplace they're working on. It's a minor ask, but I don't understand why the interviewees should be paid. They should be able to just reach out to these devs and gather feedback. And the interviews are not going to be published as far as I can see. This might be the first step in the funding of the marketplace they're trying to build, but the intention is unclear to me. Nay.

OK, so I'm confused about a lot of stuff on this one. This is a compensation for the interviewees? It was posted on April 7 but the applications for the interviews also ends on April 7, so what's the point for coming to the treasury to ask for the 4 KSM per interview?

The proposal lacks clarity around the specific problem(s) it aims to solve. I recommend that the proposing team conduct interviews with developers and users to better understand their needs on their own dime, identify a concrete issue, and then return to OpenGov with a targeted proposal focused on addressing that problem.

We suggest to ask retroactively after the interviews, if this is the case of this proposal. Also, even it's just a tip proposal, it's essential that the proposing wallet has an approved on-chain identity. Thus we vote nay here.

I think this is a low enough ask, but the value isn't being conveyed here in a clear pitch. Still Aye.

The larger picture here is unclear - what is the UX effort, what is the product (work3spaces?) and how will all of it benefit Kusama? Once we can understand that in a clear and concise way, we can figure out if this is a good first step.
