The Polkadot Community Foundation is adding two new directors chosen by the community.
These directors will help make decisions for the Foundation, which turns on-chain community votes into real-world actions.
Directors must follow legal rules, attend meetings, and help manage risks.
They will be paid $35,000 per year for their work.
Anyone in the community can nominate people (or themselves) for the role.
The top five nominees will be voted on by the Polkadot community.
The two winners will go through legal checks before officially becoming directors.
This helps keep Polkadot’s governance fair, open, and community-led.

Overall it appears to be a good kick-off to this process. My impression is that there will be issues with the removal of directors, so as I noted on 1737 too, I believe the best is to have time-limited terms for directors (although not necessarily term limits), and election gets renewed at the end of each term. Or a similar process to the old council model could have been applied. But it's good the way it is now to get started. I'm switching to nay from my previous abstain to see more clarity around these issues.
