Summary of Proposal: Fuelarts x BitBasel | Creative Tech Accelerator for Polkadot
This proposal seeks $300K USDT to fund the Fuelarts x BitBasel Creative Tech Accelerator, aiming to strengthen Polkadot's position in the creative economy and attract utility-based startups to the ecosystem. Fuelarts, a seasoned blockchain accelerator, and BitBasel, a Web3 and digital art leader, will collaborate to onboard innovative startups across industries such as art, music, fashion, and gaming. The program will focus on addressing gaps in Polkadot's creative ecosystem, such as production, management, and analytics, while leveraging cross-industry intersections (e.g., fitness + GameFi) to create impactful solutions. Key objectives include expanding Polkadot's US presence, integrating Web3 tools into Web2 industries, and reducing reliance on treasury funding by reigniting investor interest in Polkadot-based startups.

1. Objective is not clear to me 2. Listed objectives are not what polkadot need at current phase 3. Starting from small amount first is better

I think it's not the right time yet for a vertical-specific accelerator, for two reasons: a) Polkadot should decide which verticals to target first, and b) Given the target companies are so far up the stack, e.g. application level, I think Plaza should be in place also to add to the network effect there.

We support efforts to bring more founders into the ecosystem. However, we also had some concerns: it’s a "lot" of money simply to guide startups. It might make more sense for startups to join the PBA for free, where they could receive tailored support. Another concern is the type of startups they’re targeting. These are companies with an existing product-market fit, real users, and often revenue. Typically, these startups are looking to scale and need funding to grow rapidly. But would they completely pivot their technology stack to migrate to Polkadot?
